Promotion Policy

The Promotion Policy sets guidelines for High Rank+ in promoting workers depending on their rank, the amount of time they have worked, and/or the logs that they have acquired. [Refer below for the Promotion Requirements Details table.]

Promotion Criteria

  • Working on Stations
Working on stations such as FTF, FTS, FTT, FTTR, FTSS, FTHD, and FTTD for a set amount of time can lead to promotions by sending out welcome messages, recruiting newcomers, assisting other workers, and supervising the base. Back seats in FTT are also considered work stations given that all other stations are filled and they are not used to idle/AFK.
  • Station Prioritization
Refer below for the Station Prioritization table before filling a station.
Priority Stations if Room Pop less than 30:Priority Stations if Room Pop more than 30:
FTFFTF
FTSFTS
FTTFTT
FTHDFTHD
FTSS
Remember that Fill The Front (FTF) is the most prioritized station as it is the only way for Standard to enter base.

Work Records

Refer to the Work Records table below for a comprehensive breakdown of the number of logs required for each division. Work Records are accomplished through the following:

  • Scouting potential members
  • Training Recruits
  • Training member to next division
  • Promoting members
  • Handling disciplinary cases
  • Transferring/reinstating
  • Selling ranks

Working on Extra Tasks

Extra Tasks can be assigned to Personal Assistants or posted in the #job-openings channel on the SS Discord server for members to take on voluntarily. This responsibility is typically handled by MODs+ who have made significant contributions in assisting the Senior Staff. When promoting Personal Assistants, it is essential for MODs+ to provide valid screenshots as proof of their performance.

Promotion Requirement Details

Please take note that meeting the requirements does not guarantee immediate promotions. The purpose of these requirements is to establish a standard for promotions. Handing out promotions before fulfilling the requirements is considered a violation of the Promotion Policy and will result in disciplinary actions according to the disciplinary policy.

Please be mindful that both the Online/Observation Time and the Promotion Time Difference requirement are to be satisfied first before proceeding with the promotion, even if they have already met the Workload Required for the rank promotion.

Promotion Rules

  • Before Promotion
    • Do not promote without an approved Boards account for logging. If you need help creating an account, please visit the Help Desk.
    • Do not promote using an ALT account.
    • Do not promote anyone in the same division as you or 7 ranks below you.
    • Before promoting anyone to their next division, it is important to verify that
    • they have fulfilled the required number of logs in their current division.
    • For example, if you are promoting a Head of Training (Trainer) to
    • Commander (High Rank), you must check if they have fulfilled the required number of logs: 3 Training logs and 2 Scouting logs.
    • A person cannot ask for promotion, but can ask someone to observe their work.
    • You have a 10-minute time allowance for AFK or other non-station duties, which will now be set in place before your 5 minutes of filling time prior are voided.
  • During Promotion
    • You may only ATT a worker if you are at maximum 2 tiles away from their station.
    • Promotion Hovering is prohibited. (Standing in front of the one you are planning to promote 1-2 minutes before they are due.)
Only hand out promotion if you have filled a station for at least 5 minutes, if both of you have met the exact “Online Time” requirement, and if they have fulfilled the Workload Required for promotion.
    • For example, if you are promoting a Trainer from the Training division, both of you must have 25 minutes of Online Time and they have filled any station/s for 25 minutes/trained 2 Recruits/scouted 2.
    • If they are in their last rank, train them to their next division before handing out the promotion.
    • Promoting after being in AFK areas will result in disciplinary actions.
  • After Promotion
    • Log ALL promotions on Boards.
    • If the division Trainee has passed their divisional training test, log it in both Promotion Logs and the Division Training Logs on Boards. This will be counted as 2 logs.
    • Assist the division Trainee in getting their badge/s. If there is no Badge Administrator (BA) available to accept the badge/s in-game, ask them to add [AB] to the end of their motto.
  • Additional Information
    • As a High Rank+, you have the authority to promote a worker who already has your tag. However, a double promotion should be based on exceptional work performance. This should only occur if there are no other eligible High Rank+ available. If there is another present, please recommend the worker to them.
    • Alternatively, you may post a Promotion-Observation request in #promo-observation on the SS Discord server as it is a way to alert other High Rank+ of when a worker is already due for promotion.
    • Bought ranks, reinstated rank, transfer rank, received promotions from Pay and Bonus Promotion lines are not counted in promotion time intervals. Promotion time intervals are solely based on the last promotion they have received while filling a station and was logged under promotion logs..
    • Room Control (RC) is given the authority to promote up to Supervisory General.
    • Moderator (MOD) is given the authority to promote up to Governor General.
    • Supreme Command (SC) is given the authority to promote up to Room Control, with a recommendation.
    • Report any case of unfair promotion to any higher-ranked staff.

Work records

Work Record consist of Boards logs that track a worker’s activity and performance within the base. These records form the basis for promoting a worker to their next division, provided they have met the required number of logs in their current division.

Alternate Requirements for Division Promotion

These options are alternatives to a promotion log used in order to reach your division requirements as seen above. You may use each of these in the place of 1 promotion log when you are looking to fulfil division promotion requirements. These options are only applicable for High Rank+.

3 Unsuccessful Scouting = 1 log
1 Successful Scouting = 1 log
1 Division Training Log = 1 log
